We are a church that primarily seeks to do two things.
- The first is we want to be a Bible Based church. In other words we believe that God is a speaking God and he has caused the things he wants us to know to be recorded in the Bible. Through our preaching on Sundays, small groups, Sunday School, and encouraging each other one on one, we believe God will speak to us through his word, by the Holy Spirit about his son Jesus Christ. We seek to proclaim God's word faithfully and regularly. Not only do we seek to proclaim it, we also want to submit to it, both individually and corporately.
- The second is that we want to be a Christ Centred church. We believe Jesus Christ is central to the Bible's message and that without Jesus we are in big trouble. We believe that through Jesus' death for us on the cross and his resurrection we can be forgiven, and restored into relationship with God. We also believe that God wants us to repent and live with Jesus in control of our lives. We want to share this message with others. If you have not heard about the fantastic person that Jesus is and the amazing things he has done, then we encourage you to read through one of the books about him in the Bible (Matthew, Mark, Luke or John). We also encourage you go to this site, and see a great explanation of what a Christian is. www.matthiasmedia.com.au/2wtl
APOSS is part of the Anglican Church of Australia. We are one of the parishes of the Diocese of Bendigo in Victoria, Australia and are supported by the Bush Church Aid Society. As a part of the Anglican Church we hold to the truths as expressed in the Creeds and the historic documents of the Anglican Church.
Our church is led by the Rector (an ordained minister) with members of the Parish Council which are elected annually. Our church members include people of various ages and lifestages. We are not the perfect church, but we are part of God's church and seek to honour him in all that we do. We aim to be a welcoming church, no matter what age or life stage you are at, or where you are in your faith journey.
